Aloha, welcome to Wailea Canoe Club!

Wailea Canoe Club was established to perpetuate the Hawaiian ocean culture through the promotion of recreational and competitive outrigger canoe paddling for youth, family, and Maui visitors alike. The ocean is where we work, learn and play, partaking in the many ways of ocean lifestyle from surfing and canoe paddling, to sailing and fishing.
We are fortunate to have an ideal location at Cove Park just off South Kihei Rd where we enjoy great surf, clean – clear water, whales, turtles and sea life, blue skies and great weather.

Recreation

As Wailea is destination resort town, we have the priviliage to share our island and canoe culture with visitors from around the world. We have several options for you to choose from:

Recreational – Monday and Wednesday 7:00am – Learn the basics of canoe paddling while observing ocean wild life and canoe surfing – $30 suggested donation.
Have a group with special time needs? Contact us, we can accomadate your schedule.

Regatta

From the months of May through July we participate in the Maui County Hawaiian Canoe Association regatta racing. There are a total of 39 divisions that we can enter, from Manini’s and Novice’s to Platinum Masters. First time paddlers are welcome to join us in our Novice B division.

Long Distance

Our competetive teams train hard year round for the distance season. We compete in iron and 9 person (change out) races in Maui, Big Island and the Molokai Hoe (Molokai to Oahu).

Na Keiki

Our Kids Paddling Program is our main focus, it is for our children that we choose to perpetuate the culture. Through this program, our youth are able to experience paddling and the ocean with emphasis on culture and values.
